Welcome to 2020!

Welcome, each and every one of you to 2020!  For some, it has been a great year and for others, maybe not so much.  Personally, it was a year of new discoveries and excitement, peppered with a few very significant defeats which I will not dwell on in this post.  My New Year's resolution last year was to focus on the positive, travel and expand my creative repertoire, which I believe I accomplished and thoroughly enjoyed.

I was fortunate to be able to travel outside of North America and include two new countries to my passport checklist.  In April, I had the opportunity to visit Scotland with one of my high school besties.  We stayed in the beautiful countryside of Dumbarton about 20 minutes from Glasgow and made several day trips to castles, woolen mills, the highlands, and several cities and towns in between.  It was an incredible memory that I will never forget.  The feeling of exploring one of my ancestral homes was simply beyond words.  (Except when driving, there were a lot of words then!)  September took my mother and me from "The Emerald City" of Seattle to "The Emerald Isles" of Ireland.  Another amazing trip, lots of new friends made, and memories to keep as we explored another ancestral home.

During this year of travel and discovery, I found new creative ventures and made a decision to start this blog and share my journey through the worlds of arts and crafts.  New skills are being built upon and hopefully soon, I will be ready to get my YouTube channel up and running so you can learn with me.  I already have the channel and it is also Arlineology.  I took down the personal YouTube channel where I used to share family-related content and plan to use the new account for all things Arlineology.   I am in the process of working the right technical details such as camera, lighting, sound, and format.

2020 will bring many more highlights, low-points, and personal growth for all of us.  My list of resolutions is similar to that of 2019 with a couple of new goals.

1.  Focus on the positive and learn from the negative.
2.  Share my passion for creativity.
3.  Learn a new language.
4.  See a Kenny Chesney concert.

Thank you for joining me here on Arlineology and Happy New Year 2020!  The following is a link to YouTube with a compilation of some of my favorite photos from 2019.  I hope you enjoy!
